ABOUT KGE

KGE History

Ken Garner Engineering, Inc.
Today, Ken Garner Engineering, Inc., has grown into a solid, medium sized firm, and is poised to continue growth and expansion. We are excited to embrace the unknown and accomplish the impossible!

KGE has been involved in countless exciting new opportunities, ranging from cutting edge zeronet(ZNE), and photovoltaic projects, to award winning historical renovations. From the beginning, we have been dedicated to making this company a dynamic, reliable, service oriented engineering firm, using our mantra of: "engineering performance" as our guide. We use every opportunity to better understand our client's needs and desires for their projects, and daily strive for excellence in our field!

KGE's Corporate Culture

At Ken Garner Engineering, Inc., our sustainable roots are the basis of our company and have existed since our inception. As a corporate member of the US Green Building Council (USGBC), we practice sustainable design throughout our engineering practice both personally and professionally. Our company provides bonuses and exam fees for staff, supporting the effort for all project managers and designers to obtain their LEED® accreditation. Throughout our existence, KGE has maintained a strong office-recycling program, and recently, we have expanded it even more to include level 7 plastics.

Our President, Ken Garner, says it best:
"KGE believes in personal responsibility when it comes to sustainability, by offering employee's transit passes, encouraging carpooling to jobsites with architects and other engineers, and allowing flex time schedules to reduce our carbon footprint by avoiding traffic jams, we are personally committed to the cause."

Profiles

Kenneth Garner, P.E.

President

"My personal design philosophy follows how we have modeled our business. First of all, we are proactive about our projects, taking several trips to the jobsite to ensure we understand the problems and possibilities.
Secondly, We are paid to consult, so we speak up in meetings and provide alternative solutions to the problem.
Third, quality control is our goal, this begins with our mandatory quality control checklists and continues with a proactive approach with each review deadline. Fourth, we care about what the owner ends up with. We are there through the entire construction period to ensure what is designed, gets built, and we are there during the testing and warranty periods, to ensure the owner is satisfied."

Elaine Fawson, P.E.

Associate Principal

"Throughout my thirty three years in the industry, attention to detail has always been my focus. I have learned that in order to call a project a success, the owner must be satisfied with the major scope of work, and also with the smallest detail. I believe it is critical to not only give the owner what they want, but to educate and help them to understand what they need. Personal integrity plays an important role in making sure the owner get's what they've paid for, while willingness to compromise ensures that everyone on the team is dealt with fairly."

Weston Albrecht, P.E.

Project Manager

"In this industry, we have a unique opportunity to solve problems, save energy, apply new technology, and bring about change and growth. At the center of each of our projects, are our client's wants and needs. Because every project is different in form and function, I feel we must rely on an honest exchange of ideas and opinions in order to prioritize, strategize, and ultimately bring success to both the project and the client."

Trevor Spencer, EIT, LEED® AP

Project Manager

"My philosophy is to provide a design that is efficient, functional, and exceeds the expectations of the client. To do this I strive for efficient communication to ensure that the product delivered is above and beyond what is required."

Paris LeLaCheur, LC

Project Manager

"I believe that design excellence results from innovative problem solving by staying current with today's technology, combined with outstanding service.
Client satisfaction is key; by listening to the client's needs and expectations, then working as a unified team and exceeding those expectations, is my goal.
Project designs must be innovative and creative to achieve inspiring atmospheres, while respecting the projects environment."

Sullivan Watson, Jr.

Project Manager

"I have been in the consulting engineering business for over 36 years. I started as a board drafter when I graduated high school at 16 years of age, in 1975. I have worked diligently during my entire career to grow and to gain extensive knowledge, in the field of electrical engineering. I love what I do and I love solving problems and creating new possibilities. Engineering tools and technologies have dramatically changed over the years, in much the same way construction methods and materials, and codes and construction restrictions have as well. But the quest for higher education, human endeavor, comfort through environmental control, recreation, safety, exploring and discovering, has not. It is my goal to provide the client with the best possible design in order to completely satisfy the owner's needs, not just for today, but well into the future. The act of providing green and sustainable projects not only has an impact on us now, but our children and future generations also. Tomorrow is the challenge of today, and I am here to meet that challenge."
