Electrical Designer/Intern
Job Description
Will be working closely with engineers, designers, and clients (architects, contractors, etc.) on various projects regarding lighting design, telecommunications, fire alarm, security systems, electrical design, lighting calculations, specifications and cost estimating.
Requirements
- Junior or Senior year of College, Student in Electrical Engineering program
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- AutoCAD experience a plus
Hours and Schedule
Part-time. Full-time salaried possible after graduation.

Electrical Engineer
Responsibilities
Work with engineers, designers, product representatives and clients (architects, contractors) on various projects regarding lighting design, telecommunications, fire alarm, security systems, electrical design, lighting calculations, specifications and cost estimating. Attend meetings and site work. Management of projects. Ensure that projects are in accordance with International Building Codes and/or IEEE standards.
Requirements
- B.S. in Electrical Engineering
- + 5 yrs experience with Power System Analysis and Protective Relaying
- Professional Engineering License in at least one jurisdiction, transferable to UT
- Experience with Switchboard and Motor Control Center Design
- Experience with Medium Voltage Distribution Systems
- Experience with Cable Tray Design
- Experience with Lighting Design
- Experience with Grounding Systems
- Experience with Lightning/Storm Protection Systems and Fire Alarm Systems
- Understanding of International Building Codes and/or IEEE standards
- Proficient in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Lite, or AutoCAD Design Review, or similar software programs
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
